Help with Bird ID UK please - Stonechats?
2

Grateful help with the ID of these two small chaps taken at RSPB Minsmere recently. I am fairly certain that the first one is a stonechat but I'm not sure about the second - possibly a puffed up female stonechat or a whinchat?

Many thanks.

Many thanks. Here's a slight improvement on the first photo:

Also a chaffinch (?) although it lack detail - probably due to wrong settings!:

Re: Help with Bird ID UK please - Stonechats?

I'd say they were Whimbrel due to the wing pattern and the dark crown and white bar above the eyes

Re: Help with Bird ID UK please - Stonechats?

Many thanks. I did wonder if the beaks were long enough for curlews.
