Great shot with lots of details, Larryj.

BTW did you ever have the "freeze" problem with your SD14 ?

Rudi.

Yes I did have the "freeze" problem on a few occasions, but found that removing the battery and reinstalling it fixed the problem.

I did, but I was able to do entire shoots with models sometimes, and it didn't happen, so it was definitely not a big problem for me. I don't think I would have trusted that camera to shoot a wedding or some other special event though. It would definitely suck for it to freeze right at the wrong moment.

Rudi.

Re: American White Pelican

I had the "freeze problem" with my SD14 but after ensuring that the earth points were all raised slightly to touch the baseplate the problem disappeared and has worked perfectly ever since.

Hello Larryj,

many thanks for your reply. After I bought my SD14 and used it for about a week or so, I also recognized the "freezing" problem with the same symptomes you described.
A search in the SIGMA forum here was really helpful and effective. There was a gentleman from Finnland who had put up some pictures for a cure of the problem.
Tried it out and my SD14 still works how it is supposed to be, until today. Freezing is caused by bad ground connections on the memory board of the camera.

So here those pictures in case somebody wants to try an old SD14 and has problems with the camera freeze :
(Just took off the bottom plate and solder in a few 0,75mm flexible wires and the damned thing works pefectly.)

Additional wires, where the red lines are drawn.

May be someone can use it.

Rudi.
