Bluetooth Shutter Release

I have a Yongnuo RF603CII transmitter in the hot shoe of my NX1, to trigger a Yongnuo off-camera flash. It works great. But is there any way to use a generic Bluetooth trigger with this setup? The remote shutter using Bluetooth on my phone via the Samsung Camera Manager app works, but keeps disconnecting during shooting.  Bottom line, I need to trigger the flash-off camera and trigger the shutter simultaneously without touching the camera. Any thoughts?

Hi, there is a port on the side of 603 that can be used to trigger the camera. You received the cable for Canon in the box, but you can find a replacement cable with micro USB connector for Samsung NX cameras (don't have it here, I'm pretty sure it was made by JJC). Then you use another 603 to fire it (as I use YN560 IV that has inbuilt receiver I use the second 603 as a remote trigger). If you need it on the flash, you can buy a spare easily, just remember to set the channels correctly on all three.

Regarding Bluetooth, I wanted to implement it separately from the, often flaky, Samsung application, but I did not succeed. Sorry.

Hi Otto,

So I have the cable connected from the port on the 603 to the camera. And it fires the flash when I press the shutter on the camera. So are you are saying that if I get a second 603 and set it to the same channel as the one mounted in the hot shoe, it will trigger that original 603, which in turn triggers the shutter and flash?  Thanks for your response!

Wait, if you use the camera shutter then you don't need the cable from the 603 to the camera port, it should fire because of the pin on the hotshoe, not the cable (in other words, you shouldn't need the cable for that). If you have the cable from 603 to the camera it should fire when you press the button on the 603 (it even has a half press). You can try it to check if the cable and triggering work without the remote trigger.

Just to make sure, I'll try it tomorrow (traveling right now) and report back, but IIRC it works like described in the previous post. You want me to put one 603 on the camera to trigger remote flash and use the other 603 as a remote trigger? I usually use wired trigger (also made by JJC) when I don't want to touch the camera. Or use remote control from mods.

Otto, I got it to work with a generic shutter release and the 603 in the hot shoe. The cabled shutter release triggers the shutter, which in turn makes the 603 fire the flash.

Thanks for helping me think it through!
