DMF option not available in my settings?

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted. I'm just getting back to regular shooting with my NX1 after a long break. I have a question relating to macro shooting.  I was using the remote shutter release via my phone's Bluetooth to capture my photo. I realized though that even though I was manually focusing the 60mm macro lens when I used the remote shutter on my phone, the camera then auto-focused. I read the manual, and there is a DMF option.  If I'm reading it correctly, that option lets you manually focus after pressing the shutter halfway, and that should lock the manual focus. But when I go into my camera settings, the DMF option is greyed out. Does anyone know what setting I must have enabled that is not letting me access the DMF option?  Note: I sharpened this in Topaz Sharpen AI.

Re: DMF option not available in my settings?

I actually just realized that I CAN half-press the remote shutter on my phone before manually focusing, so that solves the problem. But I'm still curious as to what the DMF setting is for, and why it's greyed out in my settings options.

I think that DMF is only available in some auto focus modes
