Got myself a 700si: anyone knows of a adjustable diopter viewfinder?

It was cheap, the rubber was literally decomposing on touch.
I did a dirty quick fix with Sugru: looks good enough.
Now, this SLR doesn't have diopter adjust. Anyone know if there is some adjustable diopter viewfinder that I could adapt?

The only eyepiece fittings that have an adjustable dioptre is the 90° angle finder and the straight magnifier .

For normal use these camera's use a clip in dioptre corrector .

The same item is compatible with the Sony DSLRs and visa versa .

Check with your optician what power you need and either order a new one off Sony or an old Minolta one .

I use a -3 in mine so I can use it without my glasses .

Here's a link to one at random ;

If you ever do another grip with Sugru I would love to see the process.  I have a few old Maxxum bodies that could use a new grip.

Hi Mike , it was Joseph that's repaired his camera with Sugru , but I've used it for other things .

The stuffs a bit like plasticine or playdo . Once you've removed your old crumbling grip , wipe the camera body down with a bit of IPA to remove any residues .

Then apply the Sugru to the body and build it up to the desired thickness and contours .

When I used it I wetted my finger with water to smooth it out .

It's available in several colours , so you can use it in black as per original , or pick another colour to personalise your camera , or even a psychedelic mixture !

Once done , just leave it to cure .

sorry couldn't answer, I had super great eye surgery.
neilt3 answered.
I should just add that the 3 little packs of sugru were barely enough to make the grip. I should have ordered more to make it a little more bulky.
That stuf is really great.
