Nokia announcement tmmw (pic)

on its main site: a teaser

Save the date | Nokia phones | International - English

tmmw 15:00 GMT 00 (London)

hoping announcement of the next Pureview

my Pureview 9 took a hit during the recent ice storm in Htown (bent its frame in my jeans pocket doing yard work,) but it still works better than new with its last update & no effect on the battery

much rumors about this new flagship & I hope this is what Nokia is announcing

very excited, though it has a tough act to follow

presently refurbished 9 Pureviews are offered for more $$$ than I paid for my new one shortly after its release

simply the BEST cellphone camera I have ever used ...don't use the selective focus post hoc feature much, but in this EXTREME example, it seems to get the job done quite well

one exposure with extreme focus isolation ...clearly not the same as with a fast WA, but quite good (first firmware)

I have a much larger version in my small sensor section on pbase HERE along with other samples of this amazing cellphone camera

fingers x'ed

wants to see what HMD does with 5g & that new Snapdragon

going to send in my well functioning, but held together with gaffer tape Pureview 9 to Nokia to have its frame fixed, but not until I've done some head to heads with this new design ...gonna be hard to top the 9, but I'll give it a fair chance

Nokia not releasing a new Pureview for now

released many other cellphones, in different market sectors & the meeting seemed well done ...5g seems a difficult hurdle & the high end saturated, but the biggest factor for the near 2 year interval stems from feeling the need to top the 9, no simple matter regarding the camera

from the specs I've read, the new Pureview Edge 10 or whatever they call the next iteration, betters my Pureview 9 in all regards, save for the camera, which while wild speculation surpasses it with sensors & lenses, seems to lose the contribution from amazing proprietary layering system employed in the present Pureview

this is not a problem, as my Pureview 9 is built to last as long as its battery holds out & I suspect I can get new batteries for it (though none of the places I checked here in Houston will touch it :-() ...sadly I bent its frame wearing too tight dungarees during an emergency last winter

sitting atop its case

patience a virtue

a replacement for this on ebay & Google

new the lowest Nokia 9 Pureview price came in at just under $1 K

I'll be more careful with my new Nokia Pureview, when ever the folks in Finland are ready to hatch it

and send this one to Nokia for a proper frame repair

Part of the problem with the Nokia 9 I suspect is that Light.co has gotten out of the smartphone business? Nokia 9 had Light.co rear cameras.

Never buy version 1.0 of anything.

I don't think HMD entirely happy about Light bailing out & suspect this limits options for their new Pureview

the new top of line Nokia cellphone has been delayed in release & the rumors about the replacement's specs & even name are conflicting vaporware fantasy

I disagree with the conclusions of your > year old article ...most savvy photographers find the Nokia 9's photography system outstanding as do I

am confident Nokia will release the next iteration of its Pureview line in the coming few months, but not so confident that it will exceed the 9 Pureview in image quality

Nokia 9 rainy day in River Oaks

for full exif, much larger version & some others visit my pbase Small Sensor gallery by clicking this link

will keep the Pureview 9 & have Nokia put on a new frame (& battery while they are at it) as no techs in Htown will do the repair, which can't be all that difficult as everything works better than when new (...have had a recent Android 10 update which seems to improved the Android One OS)

none the less, I will purchase the new Pureview as I am confident Nokia will do right by its flagship ...beats getting a Lambo to own a paragon, don't you think?

X20, X10, G20, G10, C20, C10

Is there anything of importance to note?

I had a Nokia 7. Its USB-C connector failed, twice. So I'm not disposed to buy Nokia again.

I have had my Nokia 9 for about 2 years. It still looks like new. But I'm also concerned about the battery. I have occasionally been following the Nokia rumors or news. And it always point in directions of the phone is going to be a 3 focal length system, like the rest of the smartphone camera systems.
