You mention that you are a student. Be sure to signup for b&h’s educational discount program. You can save $50 or $100 on bodies and lenses. Easy signup using an .edu address. Be sure to verify that you meet the eligibility requirements but they are pretty basic.

'At our best and most fortunate we make pictures because of what stands in front of the camera, to honor what is greater and more interesting than we are. We never accomplish this perfectly, though in return we are given something perfect -- a sense of inclusion. Our subject thus redefines us, and is part of the biography by which we want to be known.' --Robert Adams, Why People Photograph

Thank you to everyone who responded! You have given me lots of help in making my final decision. In the end it was down to the X-E3 and the X-T20. They are very similar cameras and have nearly the same specs. I had to think about what physical things I needed like "do I need the flash" or "do I need a flip out screen" and "what types of buttons placements would be best".

My final decision is to get the X-E3! I personally think the look of the X-T20 was a little too "clunky" for me, and I like the cleaner look of the X-E3. Pulse the Bluetooth was a bit of a deal-breaker as I am an Instagram addict and like to post on there. Plus, as many of you said I can buy a flash for the camera if I really do need one.The lens I will get is probably going to be the XF 27mm f2.8. I'm also looking at the XC 35mm, but even if I don't get the 35mm I can always get it down the line if I feel like I need it.

Thanks again!!

Good to hear, I think you couldn't have made a 'wrong' choice either way, so enjoy your X-E3. Let us know how you get on with it and don't be shy if you run into any questions.

Congratulations, the X-E3 is a great camera. Update its firmware after you receive it if that hasn't been done yet.
