To you, what is a better camera the canon's 700D or 1500D?

I think I misread your original question, sorry. I think it depends on how important the flippy screen and Mic port are for your video requirements.  For me, the 1500D looks like a better piece of equipment. There are other options unless you are already invested in Canon lenses...

I wish Canon had one name for each product.  I believe the 1500D is the T7, but some call it the 2000D.  The T7 is signigicantly better but not for high speed sports.  If you can stretch to the 80D it does everything well.  I think the 80D is the 80D everywhere.

Absolutely no point switching to Nikon for this type of body.

As far as I know, all Nikon kit lenses are zooms. Typically 18-55 mm. Some are also sold with a longer zoom as well for $100 extra.

That's correct.

You skipped the part where I said " but not for highspeed sports".  What do you think fps and AF are about ?

For normal daylight photography 6MP is a very significant increase and, for this type of photography, puts the T7 ahead.

I agree re the lack of self-cleaning sensor on theT7 (1500D). All my Canon DSLRs (starting back in 2008) have had self-cleaning sensor and I've never had a problem with anything on a sensor. I remember before I bought that first DSLR in 2008, a friend (who got an earlier DSLR without a self-cleaning sensor) warned me about how easy it was to get dirt etc on a sensor when changing lenses.

I also agree to check out the newer T7i (800D). I have that one and love it. It might well be the last "real" camera I buy; it's that good.
