Great shots!  They make a considerable impact on the viewer. The first image has an added layer of orange color that I would expect to see only when the sun is virtually in the frame or with a warming filter applied . Ocean spray can (and does) accentuate it if you're closer to sea level.  But it has a great impact and a sense of depth as a result.  If added, it's a technique often used by VFX artists doing previz work.  These images make a great set.  The tight shot of the bird with eye detail (above) is really nice with an interesting cyan tint.
.
The color temperatures in New Zealand are a little different to those in North America.  In the mid-West plains of Canada, I've even seen a slight violet hue to the sky... which is quite peculiar to me.  Folks viewing your images from Europe might not realize how warm the Golden Hour colors can be down South because their daylight color temperature is closer to 6500k.  I'm in Sydney, Australia.  Since you presumably reside in New Zealand, you've been gifted with some superb subjects and scenery to shoot.  It's really nice to see these shots taken with the M-series cameras and you make a great case for anyone contemplating them.  I look forward to seeing more!

Beautiful! How’d you get the first shot? Seems like it was taken from the air.

Your shots are really golden, both color-wise and quality-wise! Thanks for sharing here.

When shooting a surface, a backlight that is parallel to the surface exaggerates surface's details and the surface seems over sharpenned and over detailed. This is pros' fave lighting in shooting (macro) surface shots and can be seen frequently in pro level movies. Here, gannet's beak & cheek being the surface we have such situation. Comparison of these 2 shots may give some clues. They were shot in the same time of day, location and settings and with a small sensor camera (and even worse there was 2x digital zoom ).

Thanks for the feedback all. Got lucky with the light, with the first photo, it is a slight crop with the sun just out of frame (it was in the frame on the original but thought it was a distraction.
