Need help on Minolta RD-175

Hi,

I finally got one RD-175. Get all the three batteries (2CR5, CR2032 and NP-500H) and able to turn it on.

Then, work hard to format the memory card (PCMCIA adapter + 512M CF card). The shutter is able to shoot and record an image on the CF card.

I just got an .PBD image and restore it on the 512M CF card.

RD-175 needs specific way to format it otherwise it won't recognise it.

I need help on the following:

1) The .PBD image I got is for 256M CF. It means even my CF is 512M and it can only use 256M. I tried to restore the image to 256M CF card and the EaseUS todo Backup Home said my 256M CF card is not larger enough.

I want to get the Minolta software on PC and format it via the RD-175 (with SCSI connected).

Where can i download it?

2) How to convert the RD-175 RAW file (.MDC) to jpeg etc.?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Need help on Minolta RD-175

as far as I know the RD 175 software was availlable only for Macintosha, but

maybe you can find some help here :

Also you might try to contact Mr. Circala.

To download the drivers go to Minolta's website .

See here ; https://www.konicaminoltasupport.com/index.php?id=1083&L=2BedienungsanleitungA2%3A

Windows or mac .

Windows 2000 was the last version , but I think it runs fine on Windows XP .

You might need to set up a virtual PC if you don't have an old PC .

I keep an old one running off line to run old hardware on , scanners and cameras , that don't work on things later than XP .

You can download the manual too , should you need it .

Any problems and I'll have a go at copying an earlier version I have on the floppy disk they came with , but I'll have to find the stand alone drive I have for them .

Once you taken some pictures most software won't entertain them .

I've found that the free version of Picajet converts them just fine .

Once converted to a modern format they can be opened in any image editing programme you use .

Re: Need help on Minolta RD-175

Thanks a lot.

I ordered a used SCSI card with the SCSI connecter that matches the RD-175. it is one the way!

Once I have the SCSI card, I will try to format the memory card (PCMCIA to CF card).

Re: Need help on Minolta RD-175

There is a way of formatting a CF card in a standard card reader .

I've tried finding the post , but not had any luck yet .

It was on a thread on Dyxum , so it might be worth having a search on their .
