Info: Fitting lens pouch for XF 16-55 mm f/2.8

This is a continuation of my lens pouch thread series.

I am sharing this because I always find it time consuming to search for lens pouches. This is mostly because many sellers and manufacturers do not indicate the internal dimensions of their lens bags, or they do not clearly state whether the dimensions they list for their products are internal or external.

So I found the Mengs FY-2 800D pouch a good fit for the XF 16-55 mm f/2.8.

The "problem" with this lens is the large hood. The diameter of the hood is significantly larger as compared with that of the lens. So if you buy the pouch according to the hood, the lens sits too loose in the pouch. OTOH, the hood must be in the pouch. I found the Mengs FY-2 bag ideal. I put the lens first, wrap the upper part in a little piece of foam, and then put the hood on top. Great fit IMO. See photos.

The hood fits on top but cannot be pushed to the bottom.

I use a little piece of foam to avoid knocking of the lens against the hood.
