Micro 4/3 lenses on Samsung bodies - does it work?

Hi,

Can I adapt micro 4/3 lenses on Samsung bodies, through an adapter such as this one?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adapter-passt-zu-4-3-Standard-FT-Objektiv-an-Samsung-NX-Anschluss-Kamera/263207500358

Is there any drawbacks?

Is M4/3 the same as 4/3?

I was trying to adapt a TTartisan lens, micro 4/3 to an NX camera...

Thanks

No!

4/3 and Micro 4/3 have different mounts and different registration distances. The "four-thirds" part of the name refers to the sensor in the cameras, not the mechanical mount.

No, they don't work? But they do exist, right. I bought this one. Should I cancel my order?

That adapter is for using M42 screw lenses from older film SLR cameras such as Pentax and Praktica. It won't work with Micro Four Thirds lenses, and there is no suitable adapter as far as I'm aware.

Many other fittings are adaptable to Samsung NX, but not any mirrorless types (like the one you linked to), or Leica M. You can get adapters for some Leica Screw (often called LTM or M39) and most lenses for manual focus film SLRs, though.

Oh man.... I already order it... I though m4/3 was the same as m42..... oh man, ebay listed, and didn't even realize it was a 2, instead of a 3

I thought it was this adapter here, but for the Nx1... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1xbphZFCio&t=244s&ab_channel=FotodioxInc

Now I have to sell it to Kisaha... Do you think he will fall for it? He was a great friend of my cousin, Flip21... he put even flip21 in his prestigious ignoring list...

It would perhaps work IF you could find a suitable adapter but lenses for micro4/3 have a smaller image circle (sensor surface area 225m2) than those for APS-C (sensor surface area 329 mm2). The resulting image would look somewhat like severe vignetting.

See here : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://photoseek.com/2013/compare-digital-camera-sensor-sizes-full-frame-35mm-aps-c-micro-four-thirds-1-inch-type/&ved=2ahUKEwjZr4H9hqHvAhWByoUKHfAxBV0QFjACegQIAhAF&usg=AOvVaw1Q5kKDClCREgSwyruDaUfk

The absence of any suitable adapters is sort of a giveaway......
