Re: Custom WB test SD15 no filter X3F file open in RT and some sharpening with the GIMP

They look good to me, Ole.

I use Custom WB too.

What did you shoot for the Custom WB? Gray card or part of the scene?

Mine is for a gray card filling the frame and shot under direct sunlight.

Are you able to access the WBGain and the Custom WB matrices in the meta-data or can you post an X3F somewhere accessible?

Do you prefer the GIMP's sharpening to RT's?

In RT I use Contrast By Detail Levels followed by about 60% low-radius (typically 0.57) LR Deconvolution.

I know nothing, really!…:)I did try the custom wb because you suggested it in another thread.I did it like the first photo in this thread, not sure if the camera read the white or shadow in the bucket as I took the reading.

yes prefer sharpening in the gimp, when I use cbdl in RT the image show up different in gimp, much sharper.

No, the displayed image has been re-done and protected by Google.

I didn't know google photo could open x3f files

Probably extracts the full-size JPEG from the X3F, but I seem to recall that Picasa would open SD9 files - perhaps using DCraw.

But DCraw does not convert SD15 files (filtered or not) correctly - just creates a bluish low-saturation raw composite image.

Oh boy ...

First download and install an app known here as "Kalpanika" ...

https://github.com/Kalpanika/x3f/releases/tag/0.57

If that goes well, somewhere there will appear a command-line file "x3f_extract.exe".

Move a copy of your X3F file to wherever the command-line file is.

In the command-line window "cmd.exe" type:

x3f_extract -meta SDIM0903.X3F

A file SDIM0903.X3F.meta is stored.

Windows can open it:

HTH
