Re: Is it worth the cost? (Around $1400US for a D810 with 4K shutter)

Assuming there the 1159 Euro (around $1400USD) is the final cost (no extra costs like VAT, etc.) and this D810 comes with a warranty, then this is not a bad deal at all.

This should be like a brand new camera at only 4.6K on the shutter.

I'd probably buy this camera if I didn't already have a D750.

Is Wex Photo U.K. an option for you?

They're advertising one at €1042, same condition even less shutter count.

I can vouch for both Wex and MPB, excellent customer service from them.

Depends what you're swapping it for I guess.

Then it's not such a great upgrade in my opinion. I have a D800 and I love it and will run it into the ground before I buy the D810 for extra cost.

Of course if you haven't bought the D800E yet then yes, I'd get the D810 for the extra cost.

Re: Is it worth the cost?

Don't base your decision on the number of shutter releases.  There are several common repairs that reset the shutter count.  A very low shutter count may simply indicate recent repairs.  Watch for wear commensurate with the shutter count.

The D810 is a good choice on a tight budget, but it is an older camera.  The advances in focus and speed would favor a newer camera for action.  The D810 is excellent for landscapes, street, and macro - especially ono a tight budget.

Landscape, street and abstract are my photography styles.I never shoot action of fast-moving objects in general..
The camera looks like new..
