Image sensor dirt

Hi,

I've been using a DSLR for quite a few years and have recently encountered an issue on all images taken with a second hand camera I bought for my daughter. It doesn't appear to be the usual dirt/smudges and it's definitely in the body rather than the lenses. It has exactly the same outline whilst using a variety of lens. Does anyone know what it could be / solution required?

it's a Canon 350d.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Image sensor dirt

Welcome first time poster.  It appears to be dust and debris on the sensor.  You can read about how to clean the sensor on the internet.  I haven't checked specifically, but Youtube might be a good place to check too.

Re: Image sensor dirt

Those lines would worry me, could simply be a lot of fibers of some sort or it could be something wrong with the sensor stack.  I see other normal looking spots, so definitely start with a sensor cleaning and go from there.

The lines worry me too, I hope I am totally wrong but those fibrous looking lines could be fungus . It's an old second hand camera and might have been stored in less than ideal conditions .

I was thinking fungus as well.  If so that camera is done.

It does have dust on the image sensor (a lot of it) and could be some fibers on it to or the image sensor cover being cracked
