Which 23mm?

If you are to choose, would you go with xf 23 f1.4 or x100f?

I really love the 23mm F1.4, but i hate switching lenses.  I guess put me down for the x100f.

Re: Which 23mm?

I didnt realize you had a 23mm F1.4  Id stick with what you have.  I have the 23mm F2 and i don't love it -- though i dont know if its the same optical formula as the X100f lens.  I just looked at the X100f camera, and it looks super cool to throw in a pocket and take with me everywhere.  Then i could just leave my 16-55mm F2.8 attached to my X-h1 and not switch lenses.

When i had the 23mm F1.4 i was using an X-E2 and i really didnt like the handling.  The lens was heavy, the body was unbalanced -- and certainly not fitting in a big pocket either.   Loved the image quality though.

Yup i do, i currently use an xpro 2 and xt3 and just saw a craigslist ad of someone looking to trade their x100f for a 23 f1.4 and i got curious so here i am haha

Re: Which 23mm?

Depends what you want to do and your budget I guess. I dont have either lens but I do have the f2 and an X100v which has a new design of lens to the f

I love the X100v Its small and I can easily carry it with me.  I bought it during lockdown last year and have been using it on my daily walk to try and build my photography skills.  Its great for most general photography including macro and I’m looking forward to using it for more street photography post lockdown.
It is a bit of an indulgence though and is obviously only a single camera, albeit one I really love.  If I was more limited in budget or building my lens system up I would probably go for one of the Xmount lenses so I could keep the lens when I upgraded my body

I sold my X100F because the V is a noticeable improvement. I always keep my 23 f1.4 on my X-Pro2 or 3 and having the option to change lenses is great.

I would stick with the f1.4 over the F but the V is more of a debate. I love my V. I don't think I'd ever sell it.

I think it ultimately depends on how simple of a setup you want because I understand why someone would want either the lens or the single camera. For me, having the option to change lenses outweighs the fixed focal length.

I have both, and I like both. Hard to compare, because I think about them as two separate entities.

It's like comparing apples to... Like comparing McIntosh apples to Golden Delicious apples.

Of course, the big difference is the extra full stop of light with the 1.4, but contrary to a lot of mis-informed opinions, the X100F lens is quite good as well.
