Will you buy 3rd party RF mount lens with no Control Ring?

When Sigma or Tamron introduce RF mount lens, they are most likely be the same as their Song FE lens with just a mount and AF electronic changed?  Will you miss the control ring?

I'm still new to owning the R6, but it feels weird adjusting exposure settings on the lens, I'm still trying out the different options, but I'm not sure I will find a viable use for the control ring in my own shooting.

At least for now, I still have not find a good usage for the control ring. I just got my R5 recently though.

Let's assume 3rd parties will have better lenses for less. One thing I value dearly is weather sealing, now that drive-by-wire manual focusing ring should be running in the same (programmable) direction. Maybe it is still possible to have a mechanical focus drive in RF mount that runs the wrong way?

If you use manual lenses as well then it makes sense to assign aperture to the control ring for consistency. Other than that I do not find much use for it either. If there were fewer dials on the camera then probably it would be a bigger deal.

I don't, and all other Canon lenses I've ever used have had electronic aperture control.

I'm currently experimenting with having focus area selection on the control ring. Seems OK so far, logically being next to the focus ring seems to work. But I still kind of prefer to have that function on the body, maybe I'm inflexible.

Seems like a lot of people don't even use the control ring, but I LOVE it for photography purposes. I bound it to my ISO settings so now i can adjuster shutter, aperture, and ISO very easily and don't have to fiddle with any menus. I honestly don't like going back to EF glass now that i've gotten used to having it lol.

Makes sense.  Not sure on other R bodies, but the (default?) ISO control is the mode dial on my R5.  It was not natural to me at first to have that 3rd dial, however.

If Sigma or Tamron offer a good 70-200 f/2.8 for under 1,500 with no need for an adapter and no control ring, I’d have a hard time making a case for spending $1,200 on the ring alone. It would essentially be a kids event lens for us anyway. I use it for exposure compensation, but not a ton of adjustment needed for a concert or play or graduation once you’re set up.

I really like having the extra dial (I shoot in full manual 100% of the time).  I set the Control Ring for AF Method.  Very fast.

Re: Will you buy 3rd party RF mount lens with no Control Ring?

I have a RP, so only have two dials. I shoot mostly manual with auto-ISO now and have exposure compensation on the control ring. On my 80D I had to hold a button down and spin a dial for EC. This is easier, although I managed to take tens of thousands of photos with my 80D. I was happy with my 80D because my previous camera could not do EC with AutoISO in Manual.

As you get used to new features, you don't want to go back.
