Look what came today!!

I have tested it with a Nikkor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6G VR and a 50mm 1.8D. I can confirm that the 18-200 autofocuses accurately, the VR works great, and the aperture adjusts from the camera (I use the command dial).  The 50D does not autofocus (which is what we expected), but aperture adjusts from the camera.

This weekend I will try it with lenses I had been hanging on to: Nikkor 18-300, 35mm 1.8G, Tokina 11-16mm 2.8, and Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro.

Very exciting!

Hi Dave.

Thank you for the post and information.  I am very interested in this adapter as I have a number of Nikon lens.  I was curious based on your observations as to whether this adapter would work with a battery grip attached to the Fuji camera.  I was told by a supplier it would but I saw on other posts the adapter may not work in this configuration.  One of your pictures suggest there should be clearance between the attached adapter and a body with an attached battery grip.  Specifically, I have both the XT2 and XH1 bodies and respective battery grips.  I know your picture shows the XT4 body but do you have any thoughts about the clearance for a battery grip?

Thanks for any information.

I'm curious to see how it handles the Nikon PF lenses, as this is a gaping hole in the Fuji line-up.

The Fringer does NOT mount with my X-T1 and X-T2 when using with their respective battery grip.  I may need to get the grip ( not the battery grip ) for the purpose of having a larger grip for the larger lenses ( such as the Nikon 70-200 / 2.8 )

Hi Tom

I've done some measurements on the X-T4 if this helps. I don't know if the X-T2 body is the same. You will probably have to consider how much the "chin" part of the battery grip juts out.

When rotating the mount onto the body, it protrudes down a bit farther:

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Escaping

I don't know what grip you are considering, but it clears my Smallrig grip/bracket no problem:

Hi, I would be interested to see how you got on with the 11-16mm.

I have an X-T1 and a Sigma 10-20 F4-F5.6. I don't seam to get accurately focused images on my dumb adapter.

I am not talking about the grip you are referring to in your picture, I am referring to the BATTERY grip which has a larger base at the bottom and that part prevents the Fringer NF-FX to be mounted.

I hope this clarifies.

Your 50mm AF-D should now manual focus correctly. You need to upgrade to the latest firmware and that will also help with many third party lenses.

Also, you might want to get on there mailing list to know when there are firmware updates

Hmm, now I'm not clear.

In your post, it looked like you said the Fringer adapter didn't fit with the battery grip, and you were considering a different grip. I was just showing you my grip that the adapter does work with.

"The Fringer does NOT mount with my X-T1 and X-T2 when using with their respective battery grip. I may need to get the grip ( not the battery grip ) for the purpose of having a larger grip for the larger lenses ( such as the Nikon 70-200 / 2.8 )"

Hi!
I may be a bit late to this post but hopefully you will still see it

I also have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D and was looking into the fringer NF-FX for autofocus.

You said that it won't work, is that correct? I'm assuming than that the fringer adapter does not have a focusing motor. Is that right?

For the price, I really wish it did.

Thanks!

Yes, correct.  I think you can work on the assumption that any adaptor won't have an AF motor.
