Just one small flaw...

Excellent first lens purchase! Sharp, fast AF, great bokeh (some cat-eyes though), 9/10 would recommend. The only gripe I have with this lens is the minimum focus distance, which leaves a lot to be desired.

Oh, and the included screw-on lens hood is very annoying. I would rather have a 'click-on' one, but that's gonna cost extra...

Re: Just one small flaw...

Strange ....... mine came with a bayonet type hood; as did the XF16 f2.8, XF23 f2 and XF50 f2. BTW - I have a spare Fuji hood that fits the XF 35 f2.  PM me if interested.

That is strange... I've seen videos on the other lenses and saw that they came with the bayonet hoods, so I thought it was just a 35mm f2 thing. Thanks for you offer! I PM'ed you!

I love your quote btw.

Re: Just one small flaw...

Minimum focus distance is standard for this focal lenght.
My complaints are huge distortion, well corrected 90% of the time but when it's not, it looks horrible. Also the extreme corners never get sharp and the AF is the worst of the f/2 WR serie. Otherwise very good and solid, especially for the price.

You might complain, but it's not flaw.

[chuckle] Life is like that - that, and weather, gives one a reason to kvetch should none exist but the need is still there.

Haoge and JJC make bayonet mount hoods that are much less expensive than the Fuji version. I have both, one on my 23/2 and one on the 35/2. They are very well made.
