Help with Galaxy J3 Orbit gallery photos

I placed a 32 gb micro sd in my wifes phone yesterday. We went on my files and transferred alot of photos and videos from internal storage to sd card. After doing this we went on the gallery app of my wifes phone and it's now showing the pictures that we transferred to sd card + internal storage pictures instead of just internal phone storage pictures. Can someone tell me haow to fix this!

In gallery it's showing what's on sd card and internal storage unless my wife pushes camera. My wife is getting frustrated. She doesn't want to see sd card photos in gallery, only internal storage pictures. Appreciate any help on fixing this situation, Thanks, God Bless!

Another owner of that phone may know better. From what seems to be the User Manual (page 84) I don't see anything about a gallery setting that permits selective blocking of what is shown. If you haven't you should explore any Settings menu as well as the little three dots or pancake type drop downs - apps are very inconsistent.

Many preinstalled standard galleries are simply limited. You might want to look at more powerful third party gallery apps like these : I personally use Piktures which lets the user decide what's shown and not shown, but F-Stop Gallery has been popular in these discussions.

I'll add that there are some clever apps to define specific folders in Internal and move the contents to specific folders on microSD with a simple click - quick way to move photos and videos - I use Files to SD Card.

As already suggested, look at some other Android gallery apps that offer more control and disable the default app, which may not offer what storage or folders to view. Simple Gallery or the Pro version will do what you want, as will QP Gallery https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mod-app-gallery-quickpic-2020.3790425/

You don't explain how much you know about getting around Android OS, apps or computers. But Simple Gallery is available free on the Google Play Store or Simple Gallery Pro is free at F-Droid (Google it). Go into SETTINGS for whatever app you choose and configure the folder settings, it to include or exclude folders. Do a Google web or YouTube search for tutorials if your user guide doesn't discuss it.

Another way, is to keep using your default gallery app but use a file manager and place this text, .nomedia (period nomedia) in the SD card root or whatever folder(s) that you do not want to show up on the SD card. Again, not sure what you know or are capable of with Android file manager or other file manager apps but it is extremely quick to do. Then just delete that text if you want the photos to appear again. Or just remove the offending image folders off the SD card?
