Enjoy.

I’ve never been fond of battery grips, but given the size of this lens, I’m considering the MB-N11 as it does feel slightly unbalanced on the camera.

Here’s the 50 1.2 next to my 24 1.8... quite the difference in size.

clearly I typo'd . I meant the Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.2 S  and not the rarer than hen's teeth 59mm f/1.2 S (which is coming in 2032.)

I think the real typo is on the lens itself. It clearly isn't a 50mm, rather a 70-200mm f2.8

😋

The solution that works for me is cradling the barrel of the lens in my left hand. When tripod mounted I think my colution will be to use a nodal rail - the type used for stitched panoramas- underneath the camera and lens. I use Arca-Swiss based L brackets on my camera so this solution will work for verticals ("portrait" orientation) as well as hrizontal framing.

Keep us posted should two little squares develop under the focus ring.  In the FM forum a member posted them on his week old copy.  Thanks

I saw that the other day. I’m guessing the rubber hadn’t adhered properly to a couple of screws underneath.

No such cosmetic issues on mine, but I’ve only been using it a week or so.

I tend to one hand my cameras a lot, and I can feel the strain as the lens tilts the camera forward, while there is no support for the bottom of my palm. I’ve ordered the battery grip which should help with that.

Sorry I don’t usually go to the FM forums. Would you mind posting a link?

L brackets for the Z7II and Z6II: Existing ProMediaGear is a perfect fit

This morning I mounted the ProMediaGear PLNZ6/7 L https://www.promediagear.com/PLNZ67-L-Bracket-plate-for-Nikon-Z6-and-Z7-Arca-Swiss-type_p_404.html on the Z7ii and it fits perfectly.
