First set of pics from the SL3. Some help needed.
1

These are the initial set of pics from my (new) refurbished SL3 with the 18-55 lens.

Cons so far:

1. Very large files even in cRAW. My SD card gets exhausted after a few shots. Can anyone suggest a solution?

2. Metering is unpredictable although this could be a user issue. Plus there is no way to easily access the metering modes without having to go through the menu. Very annoying.

3. The LCD screen info is annoying and does not display the full range of camera settings. This is a huge departure from the info screens from my SL1 and Rebel T7. E.g metering mode is not displayed and no exposure compensation scale displayed when adjusting, it only displays the numeric stop at the bottom of the screen.

4. It is a tad larger and bulkier than I imagined at least compared to the SL1. Just a tad.

5. Need to RTFM!

Pros:

1. Beautiful images that are quite malleable in post processing.

2. The flip screen is a great feature.

3. The lens is sharp even at F4. More compact than the previous version.

Anyways please have a look and share your thoughts.

Best regards!

SD card -- get a higher-capacity card.

Metering modes -- isn't there a "Q" button that gives you quick access to them?

Yes. Just ordered a 128 GB card.

Figured out the screen issue. Had to go in the menu to set it. Now the screen shows pretty much everything and accessible with the Q button.
