Speedlight Clamp
3

Hi all.

Made this Speedlight Clamp from a woodworkers clamp and a plastic cold shoe.

Simple but has proved very useful on location, total cost  £7.00.

Re: Speedlight Clamp

Looks pretty clever. How did you attach cold shoe to clamp?

Re: Speedlight Clamp

Hi Danno

I just drilled a hole in the top of the clamp, the cold shoe had a standard 1/4 whitworth thread, and screwed them together with a cap head bolt and washer.

The clamp I used has a really strong grip, and easily supports the Godox flash.

Re: Speedlight Clamp

Great idea, I want to find a cheap, maybe used, small ball head and mount it, then use it as a camera mount as well. The advantage of the clamp is that it has spring tension, which is 'better' than  a simple clamp one tightens. The "universal" use of 1/4-20 nuts and bolts is also a convenient idea. I try to use them - instead of other sizes - whenever I can.
