NX 16-50mm @50mm Vs NX 50-150mm @50mm

Can anyone explain the differences between image quality from these?

Both same focal length at f2.8? Which would be better?

Samsung has MTF charts on their website, though they can take some digging to find. I have reproduced the relevant ones below. These are taken at infinity focus and suggest that the 16-50 would have slightly higher central sharpness but soften further towards the edges, whereas the 50-150 would have more consistent sharpness across the frame. Performance around minimum focus distance is likely rather different, I'm not sure which lens would be favored there.

EDIT: Their chart for the 45mm f/1.8 lens is really not indicative of performance across its focus range.

Imaging Resource's testing of the 3D variant shows the corners having a touch of softness when used wide-open with their own test chart. https://www.imaging-resource.com/reviews/zproducts/samsung45f18nx3d/zz_sampleindex.htm

Samsung's MTF chart shows that corners are also slightly soft at infinity. (they list the same chart for both types of the lens)

Lastly, my (non-3D) copy is noticeably soft when used near minimum focus distance. I have provided central crops using the lens with an NX500. Final image is with Samsung's 30mm f/2 lens for comparison.

Both S lenses are in action here. Gamma DR and P mode which results in depth of field necessary for street filming.
