The sky cleared for a few hours this afternoon and I could do some further tests.

Took about 500 shots in 1,5 hour with a lot of reviews on the LCD or EVF and did not have to change the battery.

I envy you your shooting opportunities.  We’re into the deep freeze up here in Wisconsin.

AF for BIF is not bad but many are out of focus. This is also due to the EVF lag, I need more practice, not convinced yet.

BIFs are my true love.  I just couldn’t manage BIFs with the M6ii though.  I wish you the bery best!

The spot AF is as good as the 7DII, but the body often did not focus with the lens in the 3.3-8m position. I should maybe learn to use the focus preset.

From 8m to infinity no problems at all.

Hmm, I don’t have that lens (wish I did).  I never had an issue focusing closely with the 100-400ii on the M6ii (or 7D2 for that matter).

Next photos have only a value as observation, but I couldn't crop as much with the 7DII (on average 4x linear). Real pixels size (or 1:1 I suppose is the name), Topaz Denoise AI.

Nice.  The extra crop-ability is very welcome.

Have fun!

So I add a red dot to assist focus in BIF.

Nice setup.  I used to use a red dot sight on my superzooms.  Worked great!

I bought all the parts to outfit my M6ii, but never got around to trying it.  How do you like it?

It worked very well.

I bought l cold shoe attached in the cage with 1/4 standard screw. Then the red dot can be installed in the cage.

Then the red dot and EVF can work together.

Yeah, noticed the cage.  Looks like a nice solution.  I like the fact that you can use either eyepiece.

No no no, I can't use EVF and red dot at the same time.

I means EVF and red dot can work together, but I just use one of them at the same time.

LOL, I know what you mean.

Hmmmm, but it does give me an idea about spacing them exactly eye-width apart and...
