Xt4 batterygrip build quality?

I'm researching for a system switch to Fujifilm. I'm trying to figure if I need the Xt4 battery grip or not. I like to use a grip on my current cameras. But if the build quality is poor or flimsy it will just end up collecting dust somewhere in my basement.

So can some one tell me:

-is it the same aluminium housing as the Xt4 or plastic.

-if plastic does it feel dense and solid?

Thanks a lot

Smallrig L plates with grip are really solid and offer ARCA compatibility.  Add a spare battery, perhaps?

X-T4 Battery Grip Reviews

Thanks Kenny.

They are mostly contradicting though. Some feel its great build quality, some not. No one touches the actual construction material.. one say it feels plasticky, most others say its a perfect fit for the body.. its hard to conclude anything.

On most Nikon cameras I had that was not born with a v-grip the add on one you could get was always a perfect extension of the body. So when I bought a Sony A7R some years ago I also got a grip, that was expensive and extremely bad in every possible way.
I just wanna make sure where Fujifilm are on this sort of topic.

Thanks Skinner.

The wooden one looks great. Although my reason for the grip would mainly be to get the vertical shutter option.

On my X-T2 the shutter falls to hand nicely; I've never used a subsidiary shutter release, I don't think they add much.

I pretty much immediately got the battery grip for my XT4. I personally find cameras without a decent grip size very uncomfortable. The increase in grip depth in landscape orientation is adequate and the bottom side grip for portrait orientation is perfect. $300 for a molded piece of plastic with a small strip of electrical contacts is ridiculous but it is what it is. The fit of the grip to the camera is perfect. Yes it is plastic but I'm not sure I'd want it made out of anything else that would add substantial weight. I can't comfortably hold the camera without it so I'd consider it a must have. Any negative reviews are likely due to the price point for what it is. It's over price in my opinion but I have nothing negative to say with regards to the quality, fit or finish.

Thank you so much

I'll buy it without. Then I'll just add it if I feel like I need it.

I'd really really suggest the Smallrig stuff.

I had Fuji battery grip on XT2 and now on XH1 and XT3

They are all plastic very light and IMO absolutely excellent WR

Never had any issue with the 3 cameras a kind of 5 years experience

The one for XT4 looks very similar so I guess it will be perfect, again

THIS. My X-T2 and X-H1 battery grips are as good or better than any I have had from other systems. No warts whatsoever. Fuji non-battery hand grips are also great in my experience with X-T and X-E versions. I love the fact that Fuji battery grips allow for use of 3 batteries. Some others insert into the original battery space and merely double battery capacity.
