I'm not shifting away any time soon, I have too much money 'invested' in the system. I say invested in the loosest sense of the word since I don't mean that I expect to make a return financially on this 'investment'. Having said that, most of my kit was second hand and there still seems to be good market for used kit, although it does seem to be shrinking.

I would agree that £200 is a bit steep for the 45mm. Have a look over at CEX - they probably don't have any in stock now but you can sign up to be notified when they do. Some of the prices for NX bodies and lenses are low - so low in fact that I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would sell to them..

I would echo the suggestion of getting hold of the 16-50s and using it with your NX500. Have you modded the NX500? I only did this recently but I'm glad that I did!

CEX are selling the 45mm for £150 and have one in stock.

Thank you, I think I will give it a shot but ordered before and got broken stuff (aperture blades wouldn't shut or buttons on lens sticky) so this makes me think that they don't test the gear properly.

I haven't used the mod yet but think I saw a post recently. Can you remove the hack/mode at a later stage?

I've had bad experiences with cex too. But..as long as you can cope with the inconvenience, they will always refund you and allow you to return if something's not right..

I think the nx500 wouldn't look out if place with the 16-50s.

You can undo the mod if you wish. I think there is even an option to do so in the menu, or else you can follow some simple instructions. I was very careful installing it and the whole process didn't take more than about half an hour.

I owned the 85mm & sold it due to the inconsistent AF & a lack of lens stabilization.  The 50-150mm is a far superior lens.  The results @100mm are outstanding, especially stopped down to f5.6.
