South Africa Trip 1
12

Earlier this year we had the good fortune to get away from the wet, cold and dreary British winter for a month, and tour South Africa. Luckily we did it before the pandemic took hold and we ended up locked down. We did the same the previous year so this time we decided to change where we went and try some new areas as well as return to some that we liked. I did a blog of the trip that I've posted on my website as well as galleries of birds and animals that we saw. I'll begin here with a few shots from the start of the trip.  The images aren't in any particular order other than when they were taken.

Red-breasted Swallow, Hirundo semirufa

Three-banded Plover, Charadrius tricollaris

Little Bee-eater, Merops pusillus

Pin-tailed Whydah, Vidua macroura

Hamerkop, Scopus umbretta

White-fronted Bee-eater, Merops bullockoides
