T8i body back-ordered at Adorama - When?

I've ordered a T8i body from Adorama and am waiting for fulfillment. They show it as back-ordered, while B&H, etc., show it in stock. I've asked Adorama about possible ETA and all I get is a boilerplate "we have no further information" reply. I understand they won't know what's happening inside Canon, but I also find it a difficult to believe that Canon hasn't communicated at least some kind of delivery status to their major retailers (however accurate or not it may be).

I've bought from Adorama more than a few times over the years and had no issues so I'm not fearing the worst, just curious if anyone has real info on the Adorama / T8i back-order status.

Hi Len,

Sorry you had to wait for this camera to be in stock. I reached out to our CS team and they gave an ETA of the 1st week of December for the T8i camera body. Please keep in mind this is an estimate and can still change at the discretion of the manufacturer.

I tried Adorama also and got the same basic answer. "The decision is made by Canon, and we don't really know when they will be coming." I got the same answer from another retailer.

I had been saving up for a year and didn't really want to hear that.

I went ahead and ordered it last week from B&H. I got it three days later.

Now comes the learning curve.

I enjoy the electronic level and the digital zoom feature in the shooting movies setting.
