Canon t7i with Vello battery grip

There is a problem when the camera has a battery grip attached and is mounted on a tripod.

The electrical contact between the camera and the battery grip loses contact because the structure of the camera body and the battery grip isn't sufficiently rigid to prevent flexing causing the camera to off and back on intermittently.

This happens with the T7i, with efs 55-250 lens mounted, Vello BG-C15 battery grip, on a Vanguard SBH-100 tripod.

The solution, obviously, is to use tripod and camera without the battery grip. I wanted to use the combo to be able to work at a distance for some more time.

My suggestion would be to get the OEM battery grip for your T7i.

Not sure if you're still checking this thread, but if it were me I'd probably wedge some paper or something (tape maybe) in the cameras battery compartment along with the piece from the grip to fill in the space that is allowing it to move off the contacts (unless it's moving down and away from the contacts).
