I managed to snatch a few minutes with the camera today.

18-55 lens, with a 21mm extension tube and Raynox 150. The extension tube seemed to stop autofocus working - it would only focus at one distance from the subject, which was around 1". If I changed the focal length it refused to focus altogether. Does that make sense?

Re: Ladybird

That makes complete sense.  Extension tubs can work very differently on different lenses.  Zoom lenses can vary a lot in how they are designed.  I can not use extension tubs at all with my Tamron 24-70 mm lens.  The lens hits the subject before it can focus even with the shortest tube.

Thanks macrouser. I long for the day when I can predict how a particular configuration of lenses will behave!
