You can only have one camera and one prime lens—your choice?

I’d choose the Df and the 58mm f/1.4G. These two really complement each other well, and the weight distribution is just right. Such an incredible combo. I wish I had gotten a Df a long time ago, it’s been such an incredible camera. I like it so much, I got TWO.

Hi,

Df plus my AI 50/1.8 which came with my FE in 1979. Nikkor Lens Number One for me.

So far, I only have the one Df still.

Nice! I think I’d love that Sigma 40mm f/1.4—I’m afraid to test it out!

I usually shoot zooms and I am not very discerning. But to stick with the question, I would say the D850 and the Nikon 105 f 1.4. My other primes include the Nikon 20, 58, 85, 300 and Sigma 50 Art. So I did have others I could have chosen. And I also have a Z6. I also only considered a choice from what I have. No interest in going through the thought exercise of a hypothetical camera or lens I don't own.

Oh wow! An F2! That’s my favorite film camera. I wish Nikon would re-release the F2 body and DE-1 finder. It was just PERFECT. That’s an awesome lens to pair with it, as well. I shoot with the 50mm f/1.2 Ai-S quite often.

What I have at present, a D850 with the 58 f1.4, and if allowed I would include my 105 f1.4 as reserve choice.

No introductions, no explanations, no justifications, all I ask is that you give each image a little of your time.

When I was thirteen this was my dream camera but it was way out of reach with the money I earned delivering newspapers!

I have the DE-1 finder and the DW-1, DP-11 finders. Also the DS-12 aperture control, MF-1 250 exposure back, and MD-2, MD-3 motor drives.

Love this camera, pure mechanical bliss!

Well not Nikon but this was my very first camera and bought in 1973. Took me quite some time to save up for it and still to this day I have it and almost like new..

Ah yes! Those were awesome too! I was drooling over the F1 and the A1 back in the day! I was always a little more partial to the Nikon though.

The Zeiss has intrigued me, how good is it? Do they do a 18 that's good too?

Hi,

As I already posted, the Df plus AI 50/1.8 from my FE. But, if I can have two lenses, I will add my Type A 85/1.8 left over from my F2 (with the AI aperture ring Nikon made back in the late 70s to convert it). So, now I can also fit into the F2 part of this thread.
