This is a little bird with a big voice. They are fun to have around the yard. They are often curious and build their nests in odd spots.

They always look better on my monitor and if viewed at larger size on this site.

Good photos, this Wren seems to be a lot larger than ours here in the UK. I've never been able to shoot one as they are so shy & quick.

I think you may be correct. I've always thought of them a just another little bird but I found this in Wikipedia. "At 12.5 to 14 cm (4.9 to 5.5 in) long, with a 29 cm (11 in) wingspan and a weight of about 18 to 23 g (0.63 to 0.81 oz), the Carolina wren is a fairly large wren; the second largest in the United States species after the cactus wren."

Very beautiful little bird; very similar in appearance to our Marsh Wren.
