Re: Viewing stereo pairs on VR HMDs

It all depends on the 3D formats supported by the player used, not the VR device.
Inserted metadata only helps those who don't understand what 3D formats are all about, but want to see 3D material.🙂

Hi 3D Gunner.

I would really love to try a high Res 360 3D VR Video clip.

Thanks

Re: Viewing stereo pairs on VR HMDs

Hi Brian

Thanks for sending the links.

  • I downloaded the first 2 link as videos and opened them in the BIG SCREEN App, but this time I opened them in HTC VIVE. The 1st clip from a Street scene opened perfectly and I could see the depth clearly. This clip was less appealing as compared to yesterday's clip, where we had Canal and bridge with lot of depth.
  • The 2nd clip from a 3D model of moon had some weird results. When I applied the setting to 3D SBS, the Moon became an OVAL object, but the 3D effect was great and extending miles out of the screen towards me. It was damn impressive barring the elongated distortion.  After that I changed the setting to the SBS RL and this time the DEPTH went Negative into the screen, but the object remained OVAL.  I will give it a more time to understand
  • Hopefully you understand my amateur status

I am still in the process of viewing them directly in the browser. I will give you a feedback on this as well.

Regards
