Palazzo Pilotta, Parma (Italy)
3

This palace contains the Galleria Nazionale, with many of the treasures accumulated by the ruling Farnese family over the centuries.  The pandemic precautions mean that only a couple of the rooms were open, but we saw several very striking items.

The paintings include an El Greco, but I was taken with this lady's look

I would happily have this as a wardrobe in my bedroom!

The local Salmon run has started

but first you gotta catch one

looks pretty easy

Sometimes ya gotta wrestle with them

Success.

It really isn't that hard here as there are lots of salmon so much so that they often pick n choose

I know this shot is a bit of a cliche, but when in Rome (or in this case London)...

Re: Spurn Point walk

Thanks DutchMM.  Didn't particularly rate it myself, just an experiment and I prefer my first but wife and family really like it so included it.  Brother-in-law wants a print to hang on his lounge wall, despite my protestations against .  After all these years, what do I know, nothing apparently

Trying the 30mm macro

Not the greatest image but it has something to it. I love that this lens is small and has fast AF when used at normal distance.

Re: Spurn Point walk

I remember the pleasure I took in telling one of the Dons who was giving me my viva voce exam as part of my finals that he had written in one of his books "It is the privilege of great artists to say important things without realising they are saying them" (see?  I still remember roughly the words from 1972!).  Once we have taken the shot and put the processed version on show, we have done our part.  The rest, as they say, is up to the onlooker.  I put a photo on FB in a silhouette challenge, and so far it has 720 odd likes (the group membership is about 140 thousand, so I am not boasting!).  It clearly means something, but not necessarily the same thing, to the 720 likers... I just wanted to see how my brand new 6600 and Zeiss 1.8/32 would do in the near dark, LOL!

When someone likes you work enough to want to print it, I say "Go for it!".  I may get a new FB friend, and possibly a new actual friend,  out of the latest request.  All that for a picture I already took ...
