Remote control for M6ii

Are there any other possibilities to remotely press the shutter than the BR-E1(and smartphone) ? I know at least one called Aodelan, but the price is almost the same.

Is it compatible with the rc-6? Or does the M6ii even have IR?

Canon EOS M6

Thanks for the answer. But would prefer something that leaves the hotshoe free for flash triggers

The M6ii uses Bluetooth for remote activation (it doesn't work with my RC-6). Just be sure to disable Bluetooth in the camera when you're not using it (so it doesn't use battery).

Some radio remotes plug into the "remote" port on the M6ii (leaving the hotshoe free). Otherwise the port works great with a wired remote also.

Thaks R2. I think I'm going with the bluetooth remote, a lot easier in the long run for 20 extra bucks.

cable release works too - any of the remote wired releases that have the rebel connections work just fine.

Just for the record, I also found out just now, that the M6II does not work with IR remotes. I didn't know before and was assuming I could still use my RC1 as on the M6I.

You have to use the timer or, the smartphone with App instead.

Otherwise you have to buy a new bluetooth remote and pair it with the camera and, oh well, a cable release.
