Some portrait RAW files with R5 + 50mm f1.2 shot wide open

Hi guys,

Had the chance to quickly test the Canon R5. Took some quick natural light portrait shots. You'll also find some heavily underexposed shots, wanted to see how much I could push post if underexposed.

Here is the drive with the files and my own edit on one of the underexposed files.

PS. Only the last several photos were shot using face detect, the rest were shot using single point AF

Feel free to share your own edits here! I'm always curious about how other people would edit their files.

Maybe I overdid it a bit, but I love the files, and the model is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

edit: maybe a bit warmer WB is better? But then her eyes pop less.

I downloaded one because I have the 50 and am still waiting on my R5. What an amazing combo! Here's a few edits:

I love these pictures. The skin tone is amazing. Did you use your preset to achieve these outputs?

Mastin Labs Fuji 400H, but using as a base a "corrected" versión of Adobe standard that I actually tweaked for my A7iii instead of the regular Adobe Standard, but works nice also here.

I also used elliptic circles on her to pump a bit the exposure locally. That's all.

Nice! Thanks guys for sharing your edits!

I loved my experience with the set. It's just too bad that it's out of my budget

Thanks for sharing all these EOS R5 RAW files. Very beautiful portrait shots!

Gladly the file size of the EOS R5 is too much for me. Otherwise I would be in serious trouble, having to purchase the camera...

Enjoy it and keep up doing great pictures!

Best,

Lars

Very inspiring this series!

I have my fun with them. I don't have the guts to do this myself, so thank you for the opportunity.

How come her hand is posed like that?

Looks very awkward.

Thank you for the RAW files. I developed some using LRC with the ColorFidelity profile and Capture One. The ColorFidelity profile is a godsend vs the Adobe Color / Std profiles. Both, LRC and C1 give satisfying results very quickly. This is to me a big plus vs Sony A7.

What do you like more, C1 or LRC with ColorFidelity.
