No, not the GX8, too

My GX7 had problems with the thumb wheel 2 years ago. The whole top of the body was replaced under warranty. Then a year later the problem returned. I personally know a guy who had the same problem, and I read here on this forum, that this is a common weak point of the cheaper Panasonic bodies.

OK, so I got a GX8, which had a rather stiff exposure correction wheel. After about 15 months there is the same trouble. You correct -1/3 and get a random correction like -1 2/3 or +2/3 or non at all.

Great fun.
In my experience it is necessary to correct exposure a lot to avoid burned out highlights.

AFAIK this problem in my cameras started with more than 30k shutter actuations.

My GX1 was repaired under warranty for a problem with the rear thumb wheel (it had stopped working altogether).

Well, I had the gx7, the gx80 and never had a problem. However, my recent Gx9 is starting to suffer the same issue. It's still under warranty so I'll probably send it in for repair, but I really hope the issue won't reappear after a few months.

I don't feel that the dual-purpose function of the wheel is good design given the components. If instead of a "push-to-access" the wheel was split into 2 wheels of the same diameter so you accessed top or bottom in the same location, it might be more robust.

Mine hasn't started misbehaving but I suspect it will given enough time.

Used Panasonic cameras

My conclusion is, that I won't buy any Panasonic bodies used, if I am not certain, I can return them.
In any case, twice sellers have been honest enough to mention problems with the thumb wheel.

If that wasn't me, then you can add me to the list. GX9, GX850.
