Third party macro lenses are good. I won’t go near Tamron because of one bad experience, but I like my Sigma and Tokina macro lenses. AF is accurate on these two. I wouldn’t rule out all third party lenses because of Tamron.

I agree about many of the third party lenses out there. I don’t like the results some people have gotten from the Sigma 35F1.4 wide open. It is hazy, and flares badly. The Sigma macro lenses are another story.

There you have it, i have had sigma as well fell apart inside, some say third party junk brands, i would not disagree with that statement, im sticking to canon like i should always do, never had a problem with canon in all the years i have had a camera.

I agree. The Tamron 35-150mm along with its 17-35mm sibling replaced the Nikon 24-120mm f/4 in my D750 bag.

Yep consdiering the focal range these two give you, its a light set up for travel and even beyond that..

The 35-150mm takes fantastic shots - Wide open im happy with it too....

I did sell my Tamron 17-35 VC and replaced it with a Nikon 16-35mm - Much the same IMO, I wouldnt say either are better - I maybe should have just kept the Tamron 17-35....

Yes totally fair, some lenses just aren't for or done suit people, whether it how they work or how they do t work...

Fully understand...

Its not they dont work, they do to a point, but like i said the erratic AF and under exposure is a step to far, its not the first time i have had problems with Tamron, several years ago i had the same problems with the 70-200 version. The IQ was excellent, but if the lens is temperamental then its not fit for purpose, other than that i have had no problems in 20 years since shooting with canon.
