Lightroom re-edit photos which already exported but all photos are greyed.

In Lightroom, I imported about 500 photos and exported as JPG files after editing.
Next day, I want to re-edit some photos but all 500 photos are greyed and can't be developed.
How to re-edit photos ?

Are they greyed out in Lightroom? Did you move the originals outside of Lightroom e.g. you moved them from the folder that they were originally imported into when bringing them into Lightroom?

It may be that Lightroom just doesn't know where the originals are, but they are still on your disc somewhere - try searching for one of the original file names.

Greyed in what part of the interface

  • If in import that is normal if you have set it to not import duplicates (and I believe if you have set it only to show raw not raw and jpg or visa versa)
  • Normally if the images have moved they show a question mark in the in the top right corner in the library module and will not open until you tell Lightroom where they are (if I remember correctly right click file listing and select browse for images)
