AquaTech Flash Housing Cable - Cannot Connect to Housing

Today, I tried installing the AquaTech flash housing (CF-600) cable to the AquaTech EVO Water Housing for Canon EOS-1D X Mark II camera housing. Unfortunately, I cannot remove the rear nut from the plug in order to thread the cable through the camera housing (plug at top of photo). When I compare both plugs the removed plug (plug on bottom of photo) is threaded all the way to the end. The new plug (with the wire) is also threaded, but at the very end, there is a really thin plastic part that is not threaded. I can spin the rear nut all of the way until it reached the unthreaded section. I thought I could twist it through with a little exertion, but no way. The nut will either cut through the bare rubber, get stuck, or displace the rubber and damage the cable connection. I've reached out AquaTech, but it's Sunday and tomorrow is a federal holiday.

I watched the video on AquaTech and the rear nut came right off. I could also see there was an area with no threading.

Any help and/or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards

I did speak to the manufacturer. They understood the problem exactly. I used a lot more elbow grease and forced the nut through the plastic. Now it goes on and off without any problems.

Thank you.
