EOS 450D Firmware

A good friend of mine just gave me her EOS 450D (Rebel XSi).

I have been scouring Canon website for the latest firmware for this camera but to no avail.

Any kind soul can help me in telling where to download and what is the latest firmware version.

Much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Re: EOS 450D Firmware

Not all cameras have firmware updates. Yours doesn’t seem to have one. I checked there:

There is always something to shoot/snap, you just have to know how to do it and have the right gear.

Canon has removed the old firmware updates. Some of us collected them before Canon removed them. Here is another guy who has collected some https://pel.hu/eoscard/

What's missing?  I've been using my 450D for years (still do) and never even thought about a firmware upgrade.

Re: EOS 450D Firmware

1.1.0 Supports the AF assist beam features of the new flash, Speedlite 270 EX, which is scheduled to be released in April 2009.

1.0.9:

  1.
    1. Fixes a phenomenon in which AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) shooting does not operate normally under these conditions.

When using AEB together with exposure compensation, the camera may fail to write the third shot to the SD card.

  1.
    1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Live View exposure simulation warning indication does not properly display during Live View shooting.

Fixes a phenomenon in which the Live View exposure simulation warning indication, in which would normally flash when the image is not being displayed at a suitable brightness level (under the conditions of low brightness and high brightness), does not display properly during Live View shootring.

  1. Fixes a phenomenon in which images cannot be played back after continuous shooting when a printer is connected to the camera or the video output terminal is used.

That is an interesting site. Seems like there is a firmware update for the 450d. However, for several models, I suspect firmware was released early after release: when I bought my 7D about a year after its release, it already had the latest firmware. The only camera I had to install firmware was my old 350d. But it’s definitely good to check against that list.

Re: EOS 450D Firmware

Thank you for the details. I use all 3rd party lighting and haven't ever used live view or AEB features. I hadn't noticed any deficiencies so a firmware upgrade never occurred to me.
