3rd party USB chargers.

Hi everyone. I'd like your opinions on this topic. So, I am switching batteries to the LP-E17 and I picked up a few batteries. It's a shame the RP doesn't use the LP-E6N, but that's life. Anyways, with the new batteries I can only charge one at a time in the Canon charger, and possibly another if I use my PD charger with the camera as well, which sounds like it should be enough. But with my old 80D I had a USB charger (like, a charger which can be plugged into a USB port and charged) which was great, especially while travelling. The USB charger is considerably smaller, and lighter. Here is the weight difference.

So I started looking and I found that all of these USB chargers only use 2 pins instead of 4 pins. I have yet to have any problems with my OLD usb charger, but I figured it would be worth asking everyone here if they have any experience with these USB chargers. I was thinking of getting the PATONA dual charger (https://pts-trading.de/en/patona-dual-quick-charger-f.-canon-lp-e17-eos-750d-760d-kiss-x8i-incl.-micro-usb-cabel-3557) or the singular battery charger (https://pts-trading.de/en/patona-slim-micro-usb-charger-f.-canon-lp-e17-eos-750d-760d-8000d-kiss-x8i-rebel-rebel-t6i-rebel-5258) but I have no experience with this brand, either.

Are the last 2 pins important in real world usage? Does anyone have any experience with this brand, or any other brand of USB charger for their batteries?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 3rd party USB chargers.

Two pins are for main battery connection, the other two pins are for temperature sensor so the charger can slow down or turn off charging if it gets too hot. It's a safety feature first, decide if it's worth it for you to be safe from possible fire situation or if you are willing to monitor the full charging cycle. Chances of problem with fresh Canon made battery is low, chance grows for 3rd party battery or well used one where internal resistance grows and so the temperature generated during charging.

Do you have any experience with any usb chargers? I'd also only use the charger with Canon batteries.

Re: 3rd party USB chargers.

I have good experiences with either "Nitecore",a very small andlight one,and Hahnel Unipal mini which is a universal charger.

I have tested bith of them with either new Canon batteries and the no H.

I have the LP-E6N version of this charger and it seems to work great.  You can plug it into a wall power supply using the USB A Male cable, USE a USB - C cable into a wall charger or port on a computer, plug into a power bank (Mophie 10,000 Power Bank).  I have only had this a few weeks, so not that many cycles of charging batteries yet.  I used it with the new LP-E6NH batteries and it seems to work fine.  The only quirk is it seems to have a limit of not charing a battery past 95% capacity.  I am sure this is a protective feature.  I have tested charging with a well plug power adaptor, laptop, and Power Bank.
