Godox AD200 flash

Is there anything that I need to know about connecting, by cable, a Godox AD200 flash Please ?
Using a flash is all new to me, so I don't want to damage anything.
I have the Godox AD200 & the cable. I want to use it with a Sigma SD15 & SDQ.

Colin,

As far as damage is concerned, it is said that "older" flashes with high trigger voltages can damage modern cameras. I looked for your flash model here but Godox is not listed. There may be other lists where it is.

I suggest that you plug the cable into the flash but not the camera, turn the flash on, wait for the ready light and then measure the voltage at the camera end of the cable. Maybe teaching Granny to suck eggs but a steel paper-clip is often handy to access those little round connectors' center terminal.

If the voltage is less than 15VDC I would be tempted to try it on my least favorite Sigma BUT it's your call.

HTH.

SigmaTog,

The Godox AD200 is a modern flash and should be ok with your cameras or any current cameras.

Another way would be to use a wireless flash trigger setup.

Ta, I'd be interested to know, ∑Tog. I've got a Metz 45 that I HAVE NOT yet used on the SD1M, so I'll be:

Waiting for Godox!

Godox AD200 is a off-camera Flash, use with cable? Why?

Because it is off of the camera.

Re: Godox AD200 flash

That is exactly right thanks Ted......
I want to use a cable for simplicity & so I don't need the XPro trigger, $$$.

See this is what I am trying to understand & learn, these triggers seem to only fit specific brands of cameras & none say Sigma.....??

Hi,

I just bought the Flashpoint R2 Single Pin Transceiver, works with any camera. I will be using it with my DP3Q. I have the FP AD200 and FP Round Head Flash for Fuji.

All manual on the sigma’s but nice thing with the Godox/FP, when you set flash level on the R2 Transceiver, it will set it in the flash heads so you don’t have to be physically near the flash. Just did some quick tests few days ago and it works great.

Hi, glad to hear it but I don't own a Godox or a Quattro.
