BIF - BABES IN FRILLS. ALSO BIRDS IN FLIGHT. A TOUGH ONE TO CAPTURE, AND REQUIRES THE EYE OF A HAWK. REFLEXES OF A BOXER.

APERTURE - an alcoholic drink taken before a meal to stimulate the appetite

BOKEH - something to do with the bits of a photo that are out of focus. Precise meaning to be determined by the individual and changed at random intervals and in random ways

DSLR - an archaic form of photographic technology once popular now associated only with photographic clubs that maintain paper membership registers and do not have websites.

FULL FRAME - a size of photographic sensor. Occupies a very specific niche in between the multiple different smaller size categories and the amorphous catch-all Medium Format category. May be better than smaller sizes. Or not.

MICROCONTRAST - no definition available

EQUIVALENCE - see pages 6 to 438

Too true. I think you should also add the other "E" word

EXPOSURE - see pages 439 to 650

And whilst it's totally off topic, can anyone think of index entries to match the (probably apocryphal)  one from a book on software procedures

Recursive Procedure - see Recursive Procedure

Knew very little about photography when I decided to buy the awesome Nikon D70; learned quickly that this expensive camera didn't make me a good photographer.
