My Many Lowly Olympus Cameras and Some Photos
Aug 12, 2020

It's been a while since my last post! I have just set up a small home studio for learning still photography today. The first try with apples was a total failure. And so I did an easy one with my family of Olympus cameras!
I seldom change lenses!
An E-M10 bought new 5 years ago, an E-PM2 bought used 3 years ago, and an E-M10 Mark 2 bought used just last month. Those are my favorite lenses: 9-18mm, 75mm, and 12-40mm. This photo was taken with an even more lowly E-PL1 which I bought new 10 years ago. I did buy an E-PL5 some 7 years ago but I have given it to my elder sister to replace her film camera! I bought her a Canon SELPHY CP1300 instant photo printer (and a bunch of ink paper supply) too by the way.
Now some photos:
2016 August - Sunset Girl
2016 December - Company party! I taped a piece of white cloth on the wall and people started to gather!
2017 August - I still owe her mother a printed copy of this photo.
2018 March - Eagerly waiting for winter to end to start longboarding again.
2019 September - Dashed 20 feet to take this photo. They were gone before I could press the shutter again.
2019 December - Off camera flash with a soft box. Auto focusing success rate was like 60-70% in a dim corner with dark backdrop. I want a new camera.
2020 July - Comet Neowise is there if you look.
E-M10 Mark 1 actually meets all my needs until December 2019, when I was taking photos at a company party in a very dim corner with a dark grey backdrop. Auto focusing success rate was like 60-70%. I was really disappointed.
So why I bought a used E-M10 Mark 2 lately? Yes, it's cheap, very cheap. And I hate changing lenses. And that tripod issue of E-M5 Mark 3. Guess I will be getting an E-M1 Mark 2 instead. I hope it has good enough low light focusing capability.
BTW, CC is welcome!
