Took my primes for a change...
6

I got inspired by photos posted here and decided to take my primes with me yesterday instead of my normal 16-50S. Boy, I'm glad I did. It rekindled my affection for the primes and I think I will be using them more often.

As I usually do for my jpg archives these days, photos were down sized for optimal viewing on UHD/4K display.

Looking NE toward Dumbarton Bridge. Portola Valley & Palo Alto, CA in foreground. Fremont across the bay.

Stanford University on left, Stanford Dish on the hills in center

Grassy hill catching the last minutes of daylight

Sunset over marine layer common during summer around here

Very nice! I like the hazy look as I'm sure is reflective of the scene, but I wonder what impact using the dehaze option in post processing would have made?

Hi Mark,

OK, I just applied the dehaze effect in LR. Did it in graduated filter mode to dehaze only the distant hazy scenery. (Those two are killer features BTW)

I must say...I like it!  I wasn't going for "artistic" angle on those shots but rather archiving detailed capture of the area, so I think it's a very good suggestion. There's still a bit of haze in the distance but I left it there to avoid looking like obviously over-processed.

Thanks,
