Barn Swallow Feeding Young
7

A pair of barn swallows (Hirundo rustica) had nested under a roof, and were very busy feeding their young. I was able to hide behind a column, and so photograph them from perhaps 5 meters distance.

All taken with a Sony a6000 with Metabones EF-E Smart Adapter (Mk IV) and Canon EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS STM at 233 mm, f/5.6, 1/500 second, and ISO 3200. Processed in Topaz DeNoise AI and Lightroom. This sequence was taken at 3 FPS, and so lasts just two seconds.

Regards,

Alan

Came out nicely.

Where is it?

What did you use for stitching and other processing?

Thank you John! It's Rocca Calascio, Italy

I merged the shots in PS, because LR refused to use 3 shots out of 7 for some reason, then used "camera raw filter" to adjust color and shadows.

Well... I was able to get some shots with my A6000 and a humming bird at my in-laws... Not bad considering 60mm is my highest zoom lens...

I think I need around 1000+ shutter speed to get the wings in without motion..... I've got all week here and I'll see what I can get!

Esthetically pleasant series with vintage colors. Pick one?
My pick is the one where the orange neck of the parent bird glows, I think it was #4,

Been doing a healthy amount of shooting with my A6600 and the Tamron 28-200. That lens is a beast and very nearly a macro lens all on it's own.

Thanks. Yes, I think I like the fourth one best too, for the colors and the better view of the face and eyes.

Alan

A few friends and I have a photo challenge, this round is water. Had been raining all day, started to clear just before sunset. Got out just in time to catch this one. (Not sure about the edit yet though, or if another photo is better)

Hopefully this isn't against the rules, but I've been following some exposure blending tutorials for fun.  This was a composite of an image taken with the 16-55G at 19mm and a shot of the moon from the same spot using a Canon 70-200 F4L  and a Sigma MC-11 at 122mm, both using an A6500.

I want to be upfront that the moon is 100% blended in from another exposure, but it was a fun edit so I wanted to share.

It sounds like a fun and interesting experiment. Personally I do not think the colour of the moon fits with the rest of the photo. But... everyone's taste is different.

Thanks for the insight, I think you are right.  I tried to match exposure and white balance as best as I could but I think there's some differences in color rendition between the two lenses I left unaccounted for.  All part of the learning curve

I like the way you repeat the yellow of the Moon in the flowers.

Got hold of a cheap nex 5t, seems the 16mp sony sensors had better/ more preferable to me colours than the 24mp i had in the a6500.

Re: Unnamed lake in ID Backcountry

Great pic!

They say the samyang/rok 12mm is a better lens for the price and sharper, but when I had the 12mm touit, I just always enjoyed the use of it.
