EF to RF adapter availability

I have an RP ordered and would like to get an EF to RF adapter.  It seems to be out of stock everywhere.  Has this been a constant issue or recent?  I am debating ordering one as backordered if it is a constant issue.

I ordered one from Amazon yesterday and it's getting delivered tomorrow.

I had no problem finding one last month.

But even Canon is out of them right now. I would guess they have a big batch coming soon, so I'd prob backorder one as long as it is at regular price.  I see some available at like 80-100% over price and that's just absurd.  They will make more!

Yeah it is out of stock everywhere. I managed to get the control ring adapter from my local store luckily. A lot of dslr users migrating to mirrorless seems like. Better to put in your order while it’s backordered.

Which one

I wish I ordered the one that takes drop in filters.  I'll have to live with it.

I ordered one a week ago and already received it.  Now I need a camera.

I ordered on 7/8 to beat the rush after the 7/9 announcements.  It was delivered 7/10.  I knew there would be a big demand for people wanting to adapt EF glass.  I had a feeling the 100-500 might be late and suspected I would have to adapt my 100-400 II.

I got a third-party one from Meike (China), until the Canon ones come back in stock. Plain vanilla, no ring or filters. It doesn't have quite as nice an exterior finish as Canon's, but it works fine.

I do plan to get the Canon ring adapter when it's more regularly available, though.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping was the case. I will wait until the next delivery arrives in the US then as it sounds like this might be a brief blip

I am thinking about purchasing an R6, however all my lenses are EF mount. I placed an order for the adapter in February and am still waiting. I am not able to afford the RF lenses and the camera body so without the adapter I'll be sticking to my DSLR bodies.

If you are in the USA, my local camera shop has 1 regular in stock and several of the control ring:

It's not too hard to find them. I jumped on the control ring adapter version because I wanted a Canon adapter but a few days later, the normal one was available, which is what I really wanted.

Canon has the control ring adapter in stock and the normal one shows up for a bit every week. My control ring adapter got delivered within a week with normal shipping.

As others have mentioned, they are definitely out there, you just may need to look around. Good local shops with a web presence are great places to regularly check. Places like Midwest Photo, Kenmore Camera, Allen's Camera, etc are all reliable smaller stores that may get stock of things faster. I have four Canon adapters (two normal, one control ring and one polarizer drop in adapter), plus a Viltrox.

Re: EF to RF adapter availability

I had a control ring version ordered at Bedford Camera OKC for a couple of weeks that I picked up today.  I also snagged a regular version on the Canon website last week.

They are starting to show up, you just have to look around.

I got one of the Control Ring ones a few weeks ago from the Canon Shop on Amazon. Just have to keep looking, and then pounce.

Re: EF to RF adapter availability

I placed an order for the Control Ring through Canon Direct last week and got it already. The R6 on the other hand is backordered.

Re: EF to RF adapter availability

Hope you are right that they are coming through. Checked on my account order at WEX this weekend for the control ring version but still says awaiting stock.  They did have the standard one but I noticed they had put the price up in line with the Canon shop. By the end of this week it will be 3 months.

Re: EF to RF adapter availability

Had an email this afternoon from WEX to say my order for the adapter with control ring is in stock. That's 3 months from when ordered.  Gave them a call and it's in the post with Parcel Force to be delivered Monday.

Thanks! I finally got one from Adorama. Now, that I have the R6 I wish I hadn't bothered.
