Some recent M6 + M6ii shots
22

Seeing all the spotlights on R right now, and I might switch to R for my low light work, I just want to say nothing beat an M with its lightweight, lovely color for everything you want to make it.

Despire its shortcoming, I do enjoy using M up till this very day, the R bandwafon may be fun, but sure I'll keep an M for the future, hoping Canon making some good lenses for it.

Beautiful pictures. Well done.

When going RF-mount think about stabilization. You might benefit from the IBIS of the R6. If you want the lower price and higher resolution of the R you will want IS in most of your lenses. Do you have a plan for a wide angle stabilized lens?  There's also the risk the RF 50mm f/1.8 won't have IS.

Another thing: the R has a one stop better signal2noise ratio compared to the M6mkII, but in cases you need the same amount of DOF you will have to stop down a full frame camera loosing at least a part of that low light advantage. In my opinion the main advantage of full frame is getting more sharpness, but improving on low light performance in cases you need enough DOF the gains are less impressive.

For R6, it's $3350 at launch price here where I live, it's insane, as much as I like the tech, I wouldn't fork that much knowing the US price, so the sensible path is to pick up a used R when price goes down anticating R5/R6.

I'm mostly interested in astro landscape and travel now, the newly acquired EF 35mmL ii is damn sharp wide open on the M6ii, but I'm not fond of 50mm fov how many times I tríed, so the R is a good choice for the 35mm, opening me doing stitched landscape and astro shots wide open with no compromise, and for such a fast lens, I don't think I need IS that much just like M32mm1.4. On the wide end, I have 11-22mm covered, and mostly into telephoto làndscape, I'm eyeing on 100-400mmII as my main landscape lens, with its good stabilization, and most of the time I'll be using tripod, so IBIS is not a must have. Maybe in a few years I might snatch a RF 85mm f/1.2, seeing Marco's posts about its performance on astro is just insane as my 35mmII.

All very good lenses.  If you don't need stabilization it's a good plan.
